Erosion is heavy on this part of the road but there are three distinct piles of burned rock that appear as islands in the middle of the run-off from the heavy rains. These three were in close proximity with one another and there were two more ten feet away.

If you look closely you can see deer standing at the far edge of the field along the tree line on the left. The road shown on the previous picture lead into this field.

This is another view of the burned rock pile shown above. The heaviest erosion is along the wash visible on the left side of the picture. Points are sometimes found here caught in the roots of plants as they are washed down the hill. However, most of the artifacts are found on the top side of this were you see the small ledge below the tree line above. This is the sholder of the road. There are many utilized flakes, scrapers, manos and metates found here.
