Stolen!

This large Clovis point has been stolen from the Museum of the Dimmit County Public Library in Carrizo Springs, south Texas. The specimen is almost 5" long, with typical Clovis flaking, a small"burin" removal on one corner, and of a distinctive semi-glossy brown chert, with small patina spots scattered about. A drawing of it is published in Turner and Hester.

This was part of the collection of the late Wade House added in 2002 to the newly constructed museum. This was the only specimen stolen and clearly the thief knows that it has considerable commercial value. At the time it was stolen it had faded cataloging in black on one site..."Nueces River, Asherton, 1964"

If you know the whereabouts of this point, please contact David Calame at davidlcalame@sbcglobal.net.
